A Woven Cast

The characters of neur0loom are not symbols or lessons. They are ways of moving through the world. Shaped by memory, sensitivity, repetition, care, and survival. Each one carries a different relationship to attention, connection, and meaning.

Note to self: Redo all the cards. Need to make 2D sprites for a lot of the characters.

Knot

Quietly observant • Easily overwhelmed • Wants connection

Knot is curious, tangled, and quietly overwhelmed. He wants connection deeply, even when attention makes him unravel. Watching too closely makes the threads pull tighter.

Knell

Precise • Guarded • Holding herself together

She keeps her edges smooth in a world that presses too hard. Order is how she protects herself from unraveling.

Spindle

Quietly attentive • Carries memory • Finds meaning in what’s left behind

He notices what others miss and moves slowly through it, gathering fragments with care. Nothing is wasted if it can still be understood.

Spindle character card

Fray

Restless • Bursting with motion • Impossible to ignore

He moves faster than the world expects and leaves traces wherever he goes. Chaos follows him — not out of harm, but out of momentum.

Fray character card

Apple

Open • Warm • Acts before doubt can catch him

He gives freely and trusts easily, often without realizing how rare that is. Being kind feels natural to him, not risky.

Apple character card

Eggy

Quiet • Observant • Hard to read, deeply present

He feels things slowly and doesn’t always have words for them. Still, he listens closely and stays longer than expected.

Eggy character card

Milo

Gentle • Grounded • Attentive to small comforts

He notices textures, smells, and quiet rituals that make a place feel safe. The café exists because he needed it first.

Milo character card

Icosa

Abstract • Patterned • Difficult to define

They don’t fit neatly into language or shape. Meaning emerges only when you stop trying to pin them down.

Icosa character card

Bean Vixen

Graceful • Watchful • Half-hidden by choice

She moves like she belongs to the space between moments. What she reveals is intentional — the rest remains veiled.

Bean Vixen character card

Keeper of the Fold

Measured • Protective • Bound to responsibility

They stand where stories are stored and guarded, ensuring nothing important disappears entirely. Their presence is steady, not comforting — but necessary.

Keeper of the Fold character card

Pineapple

Sharp-tongued • Energetic • Hiding affection in jokes

He deflects sincerity with humor and keeps people guessing. Caring is easier when it’s disguised as chaos.

Pineapple character card

Banana

Soft-spoken • Literal • Unbothered by contradiction

He listens without rushing and accepts things as they are. When Pineapple scribbles over his name, he just smiles.
